Aug 05, 2010 It is possible that the neutral safety switch needs to be replaced. The thing I read was that it was just a moving of a wire under a rear seat. I can see a little movement on the gauge but it drops back down. Make sure the coils snap down on each plug and reconnect all wiring. Auto enthusiasts who thrill over optimized vehicles know that there's nothing more crucial than putting in the highest quality aftermarket parts for your vehicle. Thank you, Sir for that very informative response. Any ideas what the problem is? I've already talked to my dealership about this and they couldn't help me other than doing the repair for me at regular parts + labor cost.
Im sorry but sounds as though the only person who can help now is a mechanic to come and have a look. I can't check the coolant temp but the resistance has dropped considerable as expected. Loss of fuel pressure may be due to faulty check valve in pump assembly or Fuel Pressure Regulator-Fuel Injector. It will take a dealer level or equal scanner to complete process. Look for them before you remove the top. The motor inside the pump spins and runs to build pressure in the fuel system. The information you provided made it possible to narrow down the source of the problem and avoided a possible waste of time and money.
I read somewhere in hear that if you take off the back seat that there is a access panel to the fuel pump. Please note that the fuel hoses are connected to the access cover. I brought it back and they said there are 2 fuel sender units in the gas tank. Is the fuel getting to the rail? Inside are high draw, high amperage fuses and relays for things like the fuel pump. There is an access cover underneath the back seat from which you can reach, remove and install the pump.
This part is also sometimes called Nissan Altima Gas Pumps. Please give your thoughts on my opinion of the problem source. I unhooked the wiring harness first, then pulled the fuel line. They accessed from the circular access hole under the rear seat. Whether it's your Fuel Pump or your Washer Pump, restoring your vehicle with premium quality parts is the best investment every single time.
Today's performance-minded drivers understand how to maximize the performance level of their Nissan Altima by upgrading to high-performance parts. Nissan manufactures vehicles which are optimized for high-end performance, and the Altima won't deliver as intended without top-quality high-performance auto parts and accessories. Access the fuel pump assembly by pulling up the rear seat cushion. Do I need to pull the fuse for my fuel pump and depressurize the system first, or can I just swap out the units? Next I listened to each of the injectors putting a screwdriver to each and listening with ear against the other end. I have the one for my 2011 I got from here. I put gas in and it spins but wouldnt catch.
If the fuel pressure will come up and hold, you're back to spark. Previous day it started instantly. I check for ghost codes and get cylinder one misfire 301 and knock sensor. If the pump still doesn't run then see 2 below. On the drivers side near your knee and the hood release, is the fuse block.
Some Of The Problems You Could Be Facing With Your Nissan Altima Fuel Pump The engine may not start; this is the most severe problem which means that the pump has malfunctioned to the point where the vehicle no longer starts indicating that there is no fuel reaching the engine when ignited. They said it was a big job because they take off the gas tank make sure you do it when you have almost no gas in the tank. Do I just use a punch and a hammer to loosen the retaining ring and then replace the sender unit? All sound the same to me, clicking away. That is for the fuel pump. Thank you for your patience Aug 29, 2009. Clean and dry with correct gap makes for the best spark.
Also, check if this is covered under Nissan's Warranty. There is probably something simple, since it ran before changing the valve cover. Clean all the plugs with electrical cleaner or brake cleaner and reinstall. Those would probably be more likely to cause slow starting. The fuel pump runs continuously once the engine starts and continues to run as long as the engine is running and the ignition is on. I had the fuel sender unit replaced in my Rogue, twice! The coolant sensor is reading that the temp is cool on a warmed up engine and actually causes the engine to run rich thinking it is a cold engine.
If I'm not mistaken, the unit is accessible from under the rear passenger seat, correct? Nissan has issued a recall for the premature failure of 2. Again, dead in the water and a tow to the shop. Unfortunately it could also be some of the other problems mentioned too , but as I only have this question locked to me for 30 min, could you possibly give me some more time and I will come back to you asap on how you can test this switch first and go from there.
