I paid 2,300 for an extended warranty that I am paying for still and I owe over 10,000 on this vehicle. Thank goodness I was in the position to coast into a gas station safely. When Your Foot Is On The Brake And Not On The Gas, The Car Tries To Accelerate. We felt the transmission was faulty and Ford should have agreed to pay for the repair or a large part of it. Of course, my extended warranty expired 2 weeks ago. The Manufacturer Offered No Assistance.
No Warning Lights Issued On The Dash Until Failure, Dealer Saw No Codes On The Computer. Now the issue occurs as soon as the vehicle comes to it's first complete stop and sits for a couple seconds. The Contact Had Not Spoken With The Manufacturer At The Time Of The Complaint. The Contact Notified The Dealer Of The Problem And Was Asked To Get The Car Serviced. I woulg like to be added to class action suite. Had the throttle arm replaced and it still loses power and the wrench light goes on, usually while on the freeway!!! The wrench and traction control lights come on and the engine revs but I cannot accelerate unless I shut the car off and restart it.
My husband and I purchased a 2007 Freestyle, new, from a dealer. Was still having problem with the car accelerating periodically which was associated with the cvt transmission,now Ford says the transmission needs to be replaced. They couldn't get it right the first time???? I Am So Thankful No One Was Hurt In My Situation. I Thankfully Was Able To Pull Over Safely. To someone who is unaware of the problem might not react the same as I do.
There are class-action lawsuits filed about this issue. Sunday when i started the car on an inclune the wrench sign came on and the message siad check transmission. Am Very Afraid I Will End Up Backing Into Someone Or Rear Ending A Car Due To The Over Revving While Sitting Idle. Vehicle Will Now Need To Be Returned Once Again. Vehicle was not using Cruise Control. Ford has refused to accept responsibility for the transmission which they know to be defective and can't be repaired.

The car has stadium seating, so everyone gets a good view. It doesnt happen al the time, often after the car has been run and parked for a 15-30 minute period. . All the horror stories has me worried. I phone ford dealership and the can get remanufactured on for 7300. I am afraid to let my family travel in it for any distance other than a mile or two to the nearest store to our home.
