This was not just like driving a car were the power steering belt has come off! You have go to be kidding me??? This is unsafe when steering and brakes are messing up at the same time. You will need to take to dealership to get fixed cause its in you steerig column and dealerships carry the part but it will cost about 1200 hundred to fix unless your warrenty still good. With all the complaints on line, that should be enough to gm to call a recall. This information is in the police report. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The twitching is constants as long as car is started or key turned to supply power.
Definitely a safety issue and gm responsibility. The vehicle had to be turned off for a moment in order for the power steering assist to return to normal function. Your the number one reason our country is turmoil. Just the motor needs to be replaced. I drive it less than 10,000 miles a year.
