I feel robbed and cheated I was under the impression Nissans were good cars they know about the issue but are not willing to resolve the problems. Only this time they change the engine oil cooler and the engine oil sensor. I can not let my family drive in the car and am concerned with my own safety. Now my engine light is on.
I was a mile from Nissan Dealer where I bought my car and drove it there. I was told nothing was wrong and had the fluid changed. Being a single mother didnt seem too bothered by them, i felt It was new to me n my kids. Have to turn off and wait like 10 mins before it would move again. When I explained the problem to the Service Advisor, he knew right away what the problems was.
I took the car to a reputable mechanic the next day and was informed that I would need a new transmission. In 2016, I had to replace the ac compressor. I asked if Nissan would cover the cost of having my car shipped since the issue is covered by the warranty and is an apparent factory defect. Reset and O K for a while. Our hard working money were taken for the defected cars.
Did some research and found this is a known problem by Nissan. The manufacturer need to take action and recall to fix this matter. Once, the car just didn't start at all cause I had to pressure in the clutch and had to be towed and the Nissan dealership in austin replaced both the slave and master cylinder and said that would fix it but I still get the same problem. When this occurs, the bumper is no longer held in place and has to be replaced, which is very expensive, i. I have been on many forums where this seems to be a major problem with alot of 6 spd transmissions for the Altima. The dealership will not take it back unless I have a lot of money for a trade-in and Nissan will not do anything about it. Looks from all of your comments that after expiration of warranty transmission goes out.
Warranty on it is only good for a year. I havent fixed it yet but I believe this is the problem solenoid needs to fixed. Excessive oil consumption is the main problem reported by owners. Say my trans is going out. I have read other woes about the same thing on this website. I also have the same issues with my transmission.
Car has 63000 miles and just out of warranty. I think there's something wrong with the electric in your car. I took my car to the El Cajon dealership. I have maintained the vehicle changed air filter, oil, and brakes regularly. The car still looks very good but on a hot day the transmission fails to stay in fourth gear on the freeway, and in Texas, a hot day is common. Nissan has had a good record of reliable dependable cars.
