He reveals the secret to all the invited guests in the guise of a dirty plan by Gowtham to blackmail him. The General reluctantly accepts the offer. Though the General points the gun towards Gowtham, he cannot pull himself to shoot him, thereby silently admitting the crime. Zareena Wahab who made a comeback with 'Calender' plays Shriya's mother. Moving away from his usual comedy roles, he shows extreme restraint and underplay in his performance.
In the cast lines, Dileep is better than his recent outings, dressed well but lacks the intensity in the sequences with Sathyaraj. The climax is a huge let down and severely affects the impact of the movie as a whole. Altogether, Aagathan's chances in the Box office seem to be quite dull. The film was declared average success at box office. He runs to the hospital to share the joy with his still hospitalized sister, but sees her dying in the hospital bed.
Gautham and Charmi have a chance encounter during a bus journey and due to certain circumstances, they miss the bus from a certain point as a result of Gautham's urge to a good deed. We are then introduced to the General's family who stays in a farmhouse somewhere around Ootty. And on top of that, the song is repeated once more in a male version which further increases the length of the movie and tests the patience of the viewer. She reads it to find it from Gowtham asking if she still has got feelings for him. She is picked up by her cousin and cousin's husband.
And Dileep has not had a big hit since Vinodayathra in early 2007. All she has to do is to stand behind Sathyaraj in the entrie movie, with very few dialogues. The media people are also invited. Later his sister is seen to be in the Hospital in critical stage and the Doctor asks him to pray for her. Having identified the army officer responsible for the heinous act, Gautham gets close to his entire family, winning over their hearts and good wishes. But in spite of that, the movie is imminently watchable because it moves at a good pace and has consistently good performances, aided with good music and brilliant camerawork. The General reluctantly accepts the offer. The base thread of the movie has all colours and tones that could be translated into a hit. There is yet another song ' Munthiri - something' which is shot in Sathyaraj's vineyard in Ootty, and was really laughable, because nobody expected such a song when the movie was going on such a serious note. But even with good production values that is very much showing in its frames, the movie fails to create the effect that is needed to make that much evading hit in the career of its hero and director.
A terrorists finds them and a gunshot is heard. The bus hits an old woman. Cinematography by Ajayan Vincent is the most interesting aspect of the film. Gautham swears to the General that he will make him reveal the truth to everyone. And when Gautham meets Shriya's father, General Hareendranatha Varma, the story takes a dramatic turn as Varma was also in Kashmir, and reminiscences incidents that happened in Kashmir is the story of 'Aagathan'.
