Car was towed to cadillac dealership where rear differential breakdown was confirmed. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the rear differential had cracked and the front differential had a leak and was pouring out oil which caused the failure. I understand that this is a common problem with this model. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. Also, needed a wheel alignment, clutch update, and several other things done. Note: servicing mechanic noted after changing the differential fluid, that the fluid taken from the newly installed differential was burnt black. Fixes range from simply installing some additional washers and bushings all the way to people experimenting with entirely different rear-ends.
