Charles is very professional and quick to respond to any requests we had. The music was great, the band was super fun, and the selection of songs was perfect. Metal lettering templates and even metal eraser shields were made by the millions a long time before anyone knew about lasers or water-jet cutters. All of this on top of the fact that they are the best musicians around and put on a spectacular show. Some even credit the Roots Radics for their help in the creation of Jamaican dancehall. Our guests were raving during the wedding and have not stopped raving since. We would hire them again and again, and recommend to anyone looking to dance the night away, they were incredible! This band is tight and hardworking as can be.
While that's pretty laughable, I guess—that was the first album I listened to, so take that as you will—the Roots Radics were the backing band for Isaacs on Cool Nurse. We have gotten calls, texts, and exclamations from our guests complimenting the band. Now, back to Model Airplanes and some cool rulers! Isaacs—but 1982's Cool Nurse may be his most commercially successful to date, though many chalk that up to the fact the album was released through an international release contract with Island Records. Even when there was technical difficulty with the venue's circuits, the band did not miss a beat! Considered one of the top three best-known reggae artists to hit the mainstream, Isaacs got his start in Kingston, Jamaica, in the 1970s, and not long after, he became one of the most respected recording artists in his homeland. In preparation, they were totally responsive and flexible, willing to work with us to put together a playlist that we were psyched on. Seems like they have it down to a science and really have the aesthetic pinned. We hired the band as a 7-piece but they easily covered all of the crucial musical moments and had a great vibe going. Charles, the manager is just the sweetest! Not only are they an amazing band, they are really sweet people who took the time to listen and ask us exactly what we wanted. They are also available as a full group, which must be insane in the best way possible. They even took the time to throw in little surprises throughout. The Jamaican release was on Isaacs' imprint. Thankfully, the moment we checked out their website we knew we had found our band! Got a new to me computer from my fine son Daniel. Everyone in the band was kind and energetic and they were a great presence in the room all night. It was cool to be back and see it without snow. The live sound mix was great. Someone made the Antikythera mechanism several thousand years ago and it needed to be about as precise as this ruler.
