They were great reading and I loved so many of the strange characters. In fairness, this was the first book in the series, although it falls third in the chronology. Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones star as Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call, a pair of longtime friends and former Texas Rangers who crave one last adventure before hanging-up their spurs. Not just these things but the book also tells us about the love and the friendship at the time as well.
